The WWP textbase, Women Writers Online, is published online and is accessible by subscription only. Here is what reviewers have said about Women Writers Online.
Below you will find information on licensing, access, MARC records, and other issues of relevance to librarians.
We offer a free one-month trial subscription for anyone who is curious about the Women Writers Online collection. We are usually able to start a trial within a few days of the request. To arrange a trial, please contact us at WWP@brown.edu or call 401-863-3619. Individuals requesting trial access should include their name, address, institutional affiliation (if applicable), and a password. Institutional requests should include a list of IP addresses.
For institutional subscribers, a copy of our institutional license and our pricing schedule are available.
To purchase a license, please print a copy of the license agreement, fill it out, and send it to:
| Licenses Women Writers Project Brown University Box 1841 Providence, RI 02912 |
Individual subscriptions are now $50 per year; we also offer a discounted student rate of $25 per year. To purchase a license, please print a copy of the individual license agreement, fill it out, and send it to the address above.
Individual subscribers who have problems with access (for example, a password that does not seem to work) can get help by sending email to WWP_support at brown.edu.
Because the texts in the WWP collection are managed through SGML/XML database software, the URLs for the individual texts are long and complex, and may change as the collection grows. We provide durable, human-readable title-level URLs which can be used in OPACs and other collection management systems to point to individual texts within the collection. You may freely download the list of URLs and use them in your local system.
MARC records are available for the entire WWO collection, and more will be added as the collection grows. To locate WWP records in OCLC for download, search for "Brown University Women Writers Project" as author in WorldCat.
MARC records are now also available in batch form for a small fee from OCLC.
